The Benefits of Music With Children and Family Relationships

From the womb of music can begin to move our intelligence and shape our future. The comfort you feel in pre-natal state associates with the sounds outside the abdomen, produces a state of calm, when you hear the same sounds in the future outside world. As toddler I remember when my dad used to sing me to sleep, little did I know that this will help mold the person I am today. Music can play a decisive roll in the development of mental, physical and emotional growth of man. It can also be used as a means to strengthen family relationships and generation gaps.

Music inspires creativity, stimulating the imagination of children at an early age. As a child, when we hear a song that affects things familiar and symbolic in their daily lives, such as favorite color, animal, or food, we begin to visualize and to stretch our imagination. This exercise sets the tone for creativity in later life. It also provides a tool for expression, that perpetuates our creative abilities.

Music builds coordination. People have an internal rhythm. Our heart beats to the rhythm, we breathe in rhythm, and we even talk in rhythm. When children become in tune with the rhythm of the songs, they sway, Tap and shout syncing the music. We begin to develop physical coordination in unison to the sounds that we hear as babies.

Music promotes awareness of self. Each culture has its own anthem or song that represents them. In many cultures create a unique sound and style that explains who they are. We learn a lot about our purpose, a sense of self and place in the universe through music that is around us.

Music reduces stress. The emotions we feel from actually soothing music can slow down your heart and ease tension in your body. Music advances social skills. In my childhood when we learn the words to the song it builds confidence. From the moment the song begins, we know we can surprise our parents, grandparents and friends singing along with the song. We were happy with the transition to music and learn to communicate with people through him. We find that dancing with partners, singing in groups and even creating sounds with each other, revealing the surface and clapping our hands. This early interactive behavior can instill confidence in those who might normally shy. It provides a tool to advance our social skills and communicate at higher levels.

Music bonds the family together. From lullabies birthday music played a valuable roll in the union family.
